The E-Panel from MidNite Solar is a revolutionary new product that makes inverter installation faster and simpler than ever.

The E-Panel is a small, cost-effective approach to address the issues associated with installing a code-compliant battery-based inverter system. The E-Panel comes factory wired with internal inverter cables and AC wiring. The extremely compact design is possible due to a unique hinged door to which the inverter attaches. The E-Panel comes with all necessary circuit breakers. It has the main inverter DC breaker in 125, 175, or 250 amp depending on your needs. It has a 50 amp AC bypass breaker, and a 50 amp AC input breaker. Includes 500 amp 50mv shunt, six slots for DIN-Rail breakers, and optional mounting brackets for a charge controller.

It is available in white powder coated aluminum or standard light gray powder coated steel. The hinged door that the inverter mounts to swings open to reveal the wiring inside the enclosure. This feature makes it very simple to install the system. All you have to do is mount the E-Panel on the wall, mount the inverter on the door, hook up a few wires inside (AC in, battery, AC out) then mount the door on the E-Panel. It's that easy! You can mount two near each other vertically or horizontally. If you mount two next to each other one needs a left hand hinged door which costs slightly more.

I've had a chance to look at an E-Panel but I have never installed one. It is well built and all connections inside are easily identifiable and simple to hook up. I would not hesitate to buy one or recommend one to a customer. The door has been tested by ETL with 360 pounds, so you can trust that it will securely hold your inverter.

MSRP from $439 to $519 depending on DC breaker size and whether you choose Aluminum or Steel for your E-Panel. They can be found cheaper though. One website I saw sells them starting at $350

Overall I think this is an absolutely great new product from a great new company. It is much cheaper than a full power panel like a PS2 from Outback. It takes little space and anyone can install it.

My Overall Rating 8\10
