Morningstar's SunSaver PWM Charge Controller is an extremely efficient, cost effective approach to photovoltaic charging. SunSaver controllers are available in three amperage ratings; 6, 10 and 20 amps. The 6 amp is for 12 volt systems and the 10 and 20 amp versions are available for use with 12 or 24 volt systems. They are available with or without LVD or Low Voltage Disconnect to disconnect a load (if connected to the SunSaver) if the battery voltage drops too low.

The SunSaver is well made and compact, the internal circuits are epoxy encapsulated to resist corrosion or water damage. The wiring terminals are marine rated and accept up to 10 AWG wire. The external case is anodized black. Overall the SunSaver is well constructed and designed for years of trouble free use in even harsh conditions.

All wiring connections are very clearly labled and easy to use. There are two terminals that when shorted make the charging setpoints for use with sealed AGM or Gel batteries. When the "jumper" is removed then the charging points are a bit higher for use with flooded lead acid batteries.

Along with the simple wiring connections there are 2 LED's that indicate charging or if the LVD has disconnected the load.

The SunSaver efficiently charges your batteries using true PWM charging and is UL listed for those code compliant installations.

With the relativley low current ratings, the SunSaver is especially suited for use in small PV applications. They work well for use on small batteries in electric gate openers or for maintaining small battery banks in backup power systems for telecommunications or remote radio sites.

Overall the SunSaver is a well made charge controller that does it's job well and for the price it can't be beat. I recommend this to anyone who needs a good controller for smaller applications.
